Asander (Asandros), 1) Sohn des Philotas, machte mit Alexander dem Großen den Zug gegen Persien u. wurde nach dem Tode des Königs Statthalter von Karien; 315 v. Chr. kam er in Krieg mit Antigonos u. mußte sich demselben 313 unterwerfen, machte sich aber bald wieder unabhängig; 2) A., Satrap von Bosporus unter seinem Schwiegervater Pharnakes II.; empörte sich gegen diesen, besiegte u. tödtete ihn, wie auch dessen Nachfolger Mithridates. Die Krim trennte er vom Festlande durch eine vom Karkinitischen Meerbusen bis zum Mäotischen See geführte Mauer zum Schutz gegen die nördlichen Nomaden.
