Hooght, Everhard van der H., ein gelehrter Holländer, welcher reformirter Prediger in Nieuwendam war; er verwandte den größten Theil seines Lebens auf das Studium der Hebräischen Sprache u. st. 1716. Er schr.: Janua linguae sanctae; Medulla grammaticarum hebraicarum.; Syntaxis ebraea, chaldaea et syra; Lexicon Novi Testamenti graeco-lat. belgicum u.a.m. Berühmt ist seine durch Schönheit u. Correctheit ausgezeichnete Biblia hebraica, Amsterd. u. Utrecht 1705; nachgedruckt Oxf. 1750, Lond. 1774; neuerdings Lond. 1822, 1825, 1828 u. seit 1835 von Tauchnitz in Leipzig.
