Apolŏgus

Apolŏgus (v. gr.), 1) erdichtete Erzählung zur Veranschaulichung einer moralischen Lehre; daher 2) so v.w. Fabel, bes. 3) in weiterer Bedeutung eine Erzählung ed. Fabel, wo die Handelnden u. Redenden nicht blos aus der Menschen- u. Thierwelt, sondern auch aus der leblosen Natur entlehnt werden, z.B. Menenius Agrippa's Erzählung von dem Magen u. den Gliedern des menschlichen Körpers.
