Arnaud, 1) Franç. Thomas Marie Baculard d'A., geb. zu Paris 1718; war mit Voltaire befreundet u. ging, von König Friedrich II. berufen, nach Berlin, von da als Legationsrath nach Dresden, dann wieder nach Frankreich, wo er nach mancher Noth 1805 zu Paris starb. Er schr. Trauerspiele (z.B. Coligny 1740), Gedichte, Romane etc., bes. beliebt sind: Loisirs utiles; Les Epreuves du sentiment; Les dèlassement de l'homme sensible; Oeuvres, Par. 1770; n. A. 1803, 12 Bde.; viele seiner Romane sind auch ins Deutsche übersetzt. 2) Jacques Leroyde St. A., s. Saint-Arnaud.
