Ayenĭa (A. L.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Büttneriaceae-Büttnericae, Gynandrie Pentandrie L. (nach Willd. 1. Ordn. 5. Kl.); Arten: A. pusilla, in Peru u. Jamaica; in Treibhäusern wegen sonderbaren Blüthenbaues beachtet; der Kelch ist nämlich fünftheilig u. die langen Nägel der Kronenblätter stehen an der Spitze des Blüthenbodens an dem Honiggefäß zusammen, einen Stern bildend, der auf einer runden Säule sitzt, an deren unterer Seite fünf sehr kurze Staubfäden mit rundlichen Beuteln sitzen; ein Griffel, fünffächerige Kapsel; A. tomentosa, magna, laevigata, in WIndien u. SAmerika.
