Caputĭum (lat., Cuculus), Kopfbedeckung der Mönche in Gestalt einer einfachen Filz- od. Tuchkappe; seit den Zeiten des St. Franciscus wurde sie, nach hinten spitz zulaufend, an dem Mönchsgewand angenäht getragen, so daß man sie bald über den Kopf ziehen, bald herabhängen lassen konnte. In späterer Zeit kam diese Bekleidung ab; Mattheo de Bassi führte sie wieder ein u. gab dem vonihm gestifteten Kapuzinerorden nach ihr seinen Namen.
