Casserĭo, (Casserius), Jul., geb. 1545 in Piacenza (daher Placentinus), war Professor der Anatomie in Padua u. st. 1616; verdient um die Kenntniß des Baues des Gehirns u. der Nerven des Gehörorgans. Er schr.: De vocis auditusque organis, Ferrara 1600, Venedig 1607; Pentaesthesion, Vened. 1609 u.ö., Fol.; Tabulae anatomicae 78, cum supplemento 20 tabularum D. Bucretii, ebd. 1617, Fol., Frankf. 1632, 1656, deutsch 1707; Tabulae de formato foetu, Amst. 1645, Fol. Nach ihm sind die hinteren Seitenfontanellen (Fonticuli Casserii), der kleine erschlaffende Muskel des Paukenfelles (Musculus Casserii) u. der äußere Hautnerv des Armes (Nervus Casserii) benannt.
