Chalȳbes (a. Geogr.), Volksstamm auf der Ostküste von Pontos bis in die Gebirge Armeniens, angeblich nach Chalybs, einem Sohne des Ares, genannt; betrieben Fischfang u. Bergbau u. fertigten Eisenarbeiten.
