Dellon

Dellon (spr. Dellong), C., geb. um 1649 in Frankreich, studirte Medicin u. bereiste seit 1668 die Inseln an der Ostküste Afrikas u. Indien bis China u. liest sich dann in Daman als Arzt nieder; hier wurde er der Inquisition verdächtig 1674 nach Goa gebracht, zu 5jähriger Festungsstrafe verurtheilt u. 1676 nach Lissabon geschickt; auf Verwenden des Leibarztes der Königin wurde er indeß freigegeben, ging 1677 nach Bayonne u. begleitete 1685 den Prinzen von Conti als Reisearzt nach Ungarn; er st. nach 1709 u. schr.: Relation d'un voyage fait aux Indes orientales, Par. 1685, 2 Bde., u.
