Dossin (spr. Dosseng), Etienne, belgischer Botaniker, geb. 1777 u. gest. 26. Dec. 1852 in Lüttich; er hat sich bes. um die Pflanzenkunde der Provinz Lüttich verdient gemacht. Nach ihm ist genannt Dossinĭa marmorata, eine der prachtvollsten Orchideen, deren Blüthe wie mit Gold, Rubinen u. Perlen besetzt sieht; sie stammt aus Java.
