Fowler (spr. Fauler), Thomas, geb. 1736 in York, war Anfangs Pharmaceut, studirte aber 1774 Edinburg Medicin u. prakticirte in Stafford, dann in York; 1796 wurde er Arzt der Quäkerirrenanstalt in der Nähe von York u. st. 1801. Er schr.: De methodo medendi variolam, praecipue auxilio mercurii, Edinb. 1778; Medical reports on the effects of tobacco, Lond. 1785; Med. rep. on the effects of arsenic in the cure of agues remittent fevers and periodic headach, ebd. 1786; Med. rep. on the effects of bloodletting, sudorifics and blistering in the cure of the acute and chronier rheumatism, ebd. 1795 (deutsch Breslau 1795).
