Genăbum

Genăbum (a. Geogr.), Hauptstadt der Carnuten u. Handelsplatz im Lugdunensischen Gallien, am Liger u. an der Straße von Augustodunum nach Lutetia; sie wurde von Cäsar im Gallischen Kriege geplündert u. verbrannt; später hieß sie nach dem Kaiser Aurelianus Aurelianensis urbs (Civitas Aurelianorum), jetzt Orleans.
