Horváth-Tholdy

Horváth-Tholdy, ein altes ungarisches der Katholischen Confession folgendes Adelsgeschlecht, welches zu Ende des 16. Jahrh. nach Verlust seiner Güter im Biharer Comitate nach Siebenbürgen kam, wo es noch jetzt begütert ist; 1755 wurde es in den Grafenstand erhoben. Name u. Wappen des Geschlechts ging von dem 1776 verstorbenen letzten männlichen Sprossen Grafen Samuel mit kaiserlichem Cousens 1858 auf dessen Neffen, den früheren Freiherrn Johann Horváth-Petrichevech zu Széplak, über, welcher fortan den Titel eines Grafen H.-Th. von Széplak, Nagy-Szalonta u. Fekete-Bátor führt; der jetzige Chef ist: Graf Johann, geb. 1801, Feldmarschalllieutenant u. Divisionär beim Generalarmeecorps, auch Inhaber des 6. Dragonerregiments, er ist seit 1836 Wittwer von Josepha geb. Freiin Josika.
