Pannonii

Pannonii (bei den Griechen Päonii), wohnten früher am nördlichen Abhange des Gebirges, welches von den Julischen Alpen bis an den Hämos sich hinzieht, bis zum Savus, also von Krain bis nach Macedonien. Der Name Päonier blieb dem Volke in den nördlichen Bergen Macedoniens, P. aber hießen die Bewohner des nach ihnen benannten Landes Pannonia.
