Aralsk, russisches Fort rechts am Sir Darja, gegen 9 Meilen von der Mündung desselben in den Aralsee, wurde 1847 errichtet, aber neuerdings verlassen. Dafür wurde 1852 das Fort Kos-Aralsk auf der gleichnamigen Insel an der Mündung des Sir Darja erbaut, später jedoch auf die östlich gegenüberliegende Landspitze verlegt.
