Badrinath, Stadt in der Himalajaprovinz Ostgarhval des indobritischen Gouvernements der Nordwestprovinzen, an der Vereinigung des Wischnu-Ganga mit dem Alaknanda-Ganga, berühmt durch seinen reichen Tempel des Wischnu u. den heiligen Badeteich Tapta Kand, welcher sein Wasser von einer kalten u. einer heißen Schwefelquelle erhält u. zahlreiche Pilger herbeizieht, bes. an dem alle zwölf Jahre gefeierten Feste Kambh-Mela. Gegen 6 Meilen, nördlich von B. liegt der 17,685 Fuß hohe, nach Tibet führende Manapaß u. 3 Meilen westlich breitet sich die Himalajagruppe der sechs Badrinathpics aus, welche eine Höhe von 20,544 bis 21,994 Pariser Fuß erreichen.
