Petiverĭa (P. L.), Pflanzengattung, nach Jakob Petiver (Apotheker u. Sammler von Naturalien, welche er auch beschrieb u. abbildete, st. 1718 in London) benannt, aus der Familie der Phytolacceae-Petivericae verae, 7. Kl. 1. Ordn. L.; Art: P. alliacea, in Westindien heimischer, knoblauchartig riechender Strauch, wird gegen bösartige Fieber, die Wurzel gegen Zahnweh gebraucht.
