Product (v. lat.), 1) etwas Hervorgebrachtes; 2) Erzeugniß, z.B. eines Landes, der Natur (Naturproduct), der Kunst (Kunstproduct), als Resultat der Production; daher Productengeographie, s. u. Geographie I. B) d); Productenkarte, eine Landkarte, auf welcher die Angaben der Erzeugnisse jedes Landes der Hauptgegenstand ist; dergleichen gab Crome, Andre u. A. heraus; 3) unverarbeitetes Naturerzeugniß, welches in den Handel kommt; daher Productenhandel, der Handel mit solchen Dingen, namentlich mit Landeserzeugnissen; Productenbörsen, sind Handelsanstalten in den Städten, welche zur Vermittelung zwischen Käufern u. Verkäufern beim Productenhandel dienen; 4) eine chemische Operation, der durch Verbindung mehrer erhaltene neue Stoff, im Gegensatz von Educt (s.d.); 5) (Math.), die aus der Multiplication (s.d.) zweier od. mehrer Zahlen entstehende Größe; 6) (Rechtsw.), s. Production 3).
