Sclerĭa (S. L.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Cyperaceae-Sclerieae, Monöcie Triandrie L.; Arten: zahlreiche, ausländische, meistens der heißen Zone angehörige Halbgräser, mit dreikantigen u. wie die Blätter scharfen Stängeln, zum Theil (wie z.B. S. flagellum) in Westindien, gelegentlich als Geiseln für die Sklaven benutzt.
