Sedīle

Sedīle (lat.), 1) Ort zum Sitzen; 2) ein hervorstehendes Bret als Sitz in der Mitte des Kreuzes (s.d. 2). Mehrzahl Sedilĭa, 1) die Hinterbacken; 2) die Balkenreihen auf den Schiffen, worauf die Ruderknechte saßen; 3) die Sitzreihen im Theater.
