Skeuophylax

Skeuophylax, griechischer Kirchenbeamter, welcher die Kirchengefäße bewahrte. Daher Skeuophylakion, in Kirchen u. Klöstern der Ort, wo die heiligen Gefäße aufbewahrt wurden. In großen Kirchen, z.B. in Constantinopel, waren mehre Skeuophylakes, von denen der erste den Beinamen Magnus führt.
