Solandra (S. Schwartz), nach Solander benannte Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Solanaceae-Datureae, 5. Kl. 1. Ordn. L., also dem Stechapfel verwandt; Arten: S. grandiflora, mit großen weißen, 7 Zoll großen, wohlriechenden Blumen, ein rankender Strauch, auf alten Baumstämmen u. in Felsenritzen vegetirend, in Jamaica; S. nitida, baumartig, mit glänzenden Blättern, gelblich weißen, ungefähr 6 Zoll langen Blumen, in Ostindien; S. scandens, kletternd mit wurzelnden Ästen, in Südamerika; S. guttata, in Mexico, S. oppositifolia, in Ceylon.
