Suburbānus

Suburbānus (lat.), 1) in der Vorstadt wohnend, zu derselben gehörend; daher Suburbana praedia, Landgüter, welche in der Vorstadt liegen. S. (Suburrana) regio, der Bezirk unter dem ältesten Theil der Stadt Rom, od. vor der Stadt, welcher ursprünglich ein Dorf gewesen war u. Subusa (Sucusa) geheißen hatte; 2) an manchen Orten ein städtischer Geistlicher, welcher die Amtsverrichtungen in den Vorstädten u. nahe gelegenen Dörfern zu besorgen hat.
