Sá de Miranda, Francesco de S., geb. 1495 in Coimbra; Professor der Rechte daselbst; erhielt später eine Commende u. st. 1558 auf seinem Landgute Tempeda bei Ponte de Lima. Er war ausgezeichnet als Lyriker, auch in der Idylle u. Satyre, führte die Poetische Epistel (Carta) in die portugiesische Dichtkunst ein u. wurde der Begründer des portugiesischen Dramas; er schr.: Obras, Lissabon 1595, ebd. 1784, 2 Bde.
