Tything (Tithing, engl.), 1) eigentlich die Zehnzahl; 2) eine Gemeinschaft von 10 Menschen mit ihren Familien; war als der 10. Theil eines Hundred (s.d.) eine von Alfred dem Großen gemachte Volksabtheilung in England.
