Vafthrudnir (nord. Myth.), Riese, welcher für sehr weise gehalten wurde. Odin reiste unter dem Namen Gangradr zu ihm, besiegte ihn in Weisheit u. brachte ihn um. Das zwischen Odin u. V. gehaltene Gespräch ist der Inhalt des Eddaliedes Vafthrudnismal, s.u. Edda I. A) a).
