Albans (spr Albens), Herzogin von St. A.,[263] war eine geborene Mellon u. war in ihrer Jugend Schauspielerin in London, heirathete dann den reichen Banquier Coutts, der sie bei seine Tode zur Universalerbin einsetzte, u. später William Aubrey de Vere Beauclerk, Herzog von St. A. Als sie 1837 st., hinterließ sie ein Vermögen von 1,300,000 Pf. St. nebst einem Antheil an dem Banquierhause Coutts u. Comp. zu London, u. setzte ihrerseits die 26jährige Miß Angela Burdett (s.d.) zur Erbin ein, während ihr Gemahl nur ein Legat u. 10,000 Pf. jährlich erhielt.
