Appoint (fr. [spr. Appoäng], ital. Appunto), auf den Punkt, genau; 1) ein Wechsel, wenn durch denselben eine Schuld genau ausgeglichen wird; dann auch, wenn er als ergänzender od. einzelner Theil einer größeren Summe angesehen wird; so sagt man z.B. 2) A-s, wenn drei Wechsel zusammengenommen genau die Summe ausmachen, welche remittirt werden soll; 3) A-s (Appunto) trassiren, durch Wechsel eine Forderung vollständig entnehmen.
