Centralis), 1) in od. um den Mittelpunkt einer Sache befindlich od. nach dem Mittelpunkte hinwirkend; 2) (Bot.), mittelpunktständig, z.B. der in der Mitte des Hules befestigte Strunk der Hutpilze, das Mittelsäulchen vieler Früchte; daher Centralsystem der Pflanze, so v.w. Achsensystem, welches die Theile begreift, die gleichsam den Rumpf der Pflanze bilden u. von denen die anderen ausgehen, also z.B. der Stamm u. die Wurzel mit den Ästen.
