Paggi (spr. Patschi), Giovanni Battista, geb. 1554 in Genua, Maler, Bildhauer u. Architekt. Jung verbannt, weil er einen Gegner im Duell getödtet hatte, ging er nach Florenz; 1590 kehrte er nach Genua zurück, gründete eine Malerschule u. malte mit Rubens u. Van Dyk im Wetteifer; er st. daselbst 1627 u. schr.: Difinicione e divisione della pittura, Genua 1607. Seine bedeutendsten Gemälde sind: eine Heilige Familie (in der Engelskirche in Florenz) u. ein Kindermord (im Palast Doria in Venedig).
