Pall-Mall

Pall-Mall (engl., spr. Pell-Mell), 1) so v.w. Mail 1); 2) große, mit Alleen von hohen Bäumen besetzte Straßen in England, den Niederlanden u. Niederdeutschland, so genannt, weil sie ehedem zu Maillebahnen dienten, 3) so v.w. Pêlemêle.
