Lausus, der Sohn des Mezentius, welcher nach Virgil seinen Vater gegen Äneas schützend, durch diesen fiel; nach Geschichtsschreibern aber im 6. Jahre nach der Ankunft des Äneas mit seinem Vater, unterstützt von den Rutulern, den Äneas angriff, dann dessen Sohn Askanios in Lavinium belagerte u. bei einem Ausfall desselben umkam.
