Pentland-Frith (spr. Pentländ-Fridd), Meerenge zwischen den Orkneysinseln u. der Nordküste von Schottland, ist wegen heftiger Strömungen u. vieler Wirbel für die Schifffahrt sehr gefährlich; in ihr die Pentland-Skerry (spr. P.-Skerri), Felsenriffe, mit Leuchtthurm.
