Riolan (spr. Riolang), 1) Jean, geb. in Amiens; wurde 1586 Professor der Medicin in Paris u. st. daselbst 1606; er schr. u.a.: Commentarii in sex posteriores physiologiae Fernelii libros, Par. 1577 u.ö.; Universae medicinae compendium, ebd. 1598 u.ö.; Opera, ebd. 1610. 2) Jean, Sohn des Vor., geb. 1577 in Paris; wurde 1613 Professor der Anatomie u. Botanik daselbst; als Leibarzt der Königin Maria von Medici theilte er deren Gefangenschaft u. folgte ihr in das Exil; nach ihrem Tode kehrte er nach Paris zurück, wo er 1657 st.; er schr.: Schola anatomica, Par. 1607, Genf 1624; Gigantomachia, Par. 1613; Anthropographia, ebd. 1618, u. vermehrt mit Osteologia novantiqua, ebd. 1626, 3. Ausg. von G.
