Sermo

Sermo (lat.), 1) Reden, Rede, Gerede, Unterredung, daher S. convivalis, Tischrede. Horaz nannte seine Satiren Sermones, weil sie in einem leichteren, im Gesprächsstyl geschrieben waren; 2) Sprache, in so fern sie geredet wird; 3) Schrift, Abhandlung.
