Centripĕtal

Centripĕtal (v. lat.), was sich nach dem Mittelpunkte zuwendet; so Centripetus (Bot.), dem Mittelpunkte od. der Achse zugewendet; Centripeta radicula, Gegensatz von Centrifuga radicula (s.d.), wenn das Keimwurzelchen gegen die Fruchtachse hin gerichtet ist; Centripeta semina, Samen, deren Nabel nach dem Mittelpunkte der Frucht gerichtet ist; Thallus centripetus, ein aufstrebendes Lager, dessen Wachsthum vom Grunde nach dem Gipfel hin fortschreitet, z.B. bei Usnea; Inflorescentia centripeta, ein Blüthenstand, dessen Blüthen vom Grunde gegen seinen Gipfel hin sich nach einander entfalten, wie bei Veronica longifolia.
