Confect

Confect (v. lat.), 1) alle von Conditoren (Confectbäckern), od. nach dem Verfahren dieser in Küchen bereitete Leckereien; vgl. Confituren; bes. 2) Bäckereien aus seinem Teig, bei denen Kraftmehl u. Zucker die Haupttheile sind; das einfachste ist das Bisquit; andere Arten werden aus Mandelteig mit od. ohne Zusatz seiner Gewürze u. in vielerlei Form bereitet, die ihnen mit der Hand od. in hölzernen od. blechernen Geräthschaften gegeben wird. C. gehört, mäßig genossen, zu den nicht ungesunden Leckereien.
