Currende

Currende (v. lat.), 1) Umlauf; 2) das Durchziehen der Gassen von Schülern (Currendaner, Currentschüler), welche geistliche Lieder singen. Diese Sitte stammt von den Bettelmönchen, von denen sie zu den Bachanten überging; später wurde sie zur Unterstützung der ärmeren Schüler benutzt, ist aber jetzt meist aufgehoben. Vgl.
