Farrant, geb. im Anfange des 16. Jahrh., st. 1585 als Hoforganist in Winsor, er ist einer der Begründer der englischen Kirchenmusik u. zeichnete sichdurch reine Harmonie u. ernsten Styl in seinen Compositionen aus.
