Faustinopŏlis

Faustinopŏlis (a. Geogr.), Stadt in Kataonien in Asien, vom Kaiser Marc Aurel an der Stelle des Fleckens Halala gegründet, nachdem hier 175 n. Chr. seine Gemahlin Faustina gestorben war. Der Ort wurde zur Colonie erhoben u. der Faustina ein Tempel geweihet; später wurden in demselben die Kaiser Caracalla u. Heliogabalus verehrt.
