Oliveyra, Dom Francesco Xaver de O., geb. 1702 in Lissabon, wurde 1716 Custos der Schatzkammer daselbst, dann angestellt bei der portugiesischen Legation in Madrid, 1732 in Wien u. 1734 in Holland; 1740 wurde er von der Inquisition verurtheilt u. seine Schriften, als vom Protestantismus angesteckt, verboten; 1746 trat er zur Protestantischen Kirche über u. st. 1783 in Hackney; er schr.: Lettres familières, Haag 1741 f.; Nachrichten von Portugal, ebd. 1741; Amusements périodiques, Lond. 1751; Discours pathétique, ebd. 1755 (in 3 Wochen 4 Auflagen); Le chevalier d'Oliveyra brûlé en effigie comme hérétique, comment et pourquoi, ebd. 1762; Oliveyriana, ebd. 1760, 27 Bde.
