Ornĕä, Stadt in Argolis, nahe den Grenzen von Phliasia, angeblich von Orneus, Sohn des attischen Königs Erechtheus u. Vater des Peteos, angelegt. Hier Tempel des Priapos. Die Einw. wurden um 576 v. Chr von den Argivern unterworfen, u. nach ihnen wurden alle argivischen Periöken Orneaten genannt. Im Peloponnesischen Kriege fochten die von O. auf Seite der Argiver; 352 standen sie mit den Megalopolitanern im Bunde gegen Sparta; dann wurden sie nach Argos übergesiedelt. Man sucht O. beim j. Lionti.
