Inssar, 1) Kreis im russischen Gouvernement Pensa, 112 QM.; 135,600 Ew.; Boden eben u. fruchtbar, wird von der Issa, Inssara, Ssawin, Rudna, Scheschkowka u. andern Flüssen bewässert. Nebst Russen wohnen hier Tataren u. Mordowzer. 2) Hauptstadt des Kreises an der Inssara u. Issa; 7450 Ew., sonst befestigt; hat 4 Kirchen, Salzmagazin, 2 Jahrmärkte; Handel mit Häuten u. Talg; dabei Eisenhütte; 3) (Inssara), Fluß daselbst, fließt in das Gouvernement Nischneij-Nowgorod u. fällt nach 15 deutschen Meilen in den Alatyr.
