Kurkum

Kurkum, Stadt in dem indischen District Poonah. Hier 1818 Sieg der Briten unter General Ochterlony über den mahrattischen Peischwah von Poonah; Letzter wurde gefangen u. sein Land den britischen Besitzungen einverleibt.
