Pfyn (Pfin, das römische ad Fines), Pfarrdorf im Bezirk Steckborn des Schweizercantons Thurgan, an der Töß; Schloß, Torfgruben; 600 Ew. Überreste einer römischen Heerstraße, Fundort von römischen Münzen etc. P. war ehemals ein Städtchen u. wurde 1476 durch eine Feuersbrunst in ein offenes Dorf verwandelt. Dabei der aus einer 1/2 Stunde langen Kette 100–200 Fuß hoher bewaldeter Schutthügel bestehende Pfyner Wald, eine wichtige militärische Stellung, 1798 von den Wallisern gegen die Franzosen vertheidigt u. nur durch List genommen.
