Phorōn, C18 H14 O2, ein bei der trockenen Destillation des camphersauren Kalks erhaltenes Öl, ist leichter als Wasser, färbt sich an der Luft, siedet bei 208°; wasserfreie Phosphorsäure verwandelt es in Cumol, als dessen Hydrat es betrachtet werden kann; mit Phosphorchlorid (P Cl5) gibt es Phorylchlorür, C18 H13 Cl, ein leichtes, aromatisches, bei 175° siedendes Öl.
