Platonĭa, 1) P. Kunth, Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Gramineae-Bambuseae; Art: P. data, in Quito; 2) P. Mart., Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Clusiaceae-Canellaceae Endl., Guttiferae-Platonieae Rbch.; P. insignis (Symphonia esculenta Sleud.), hoher Baum in Pernambuco, mit großen, weiß- u. rosenrothen Blüthen, Beeren von der Größe einer Pomeranze, deren weißes, säuerlich süßes Fleisch, mit Zucker eingemacht sehr geschätzt wird; die fetten, öligen Kerne werden wie Mandeln benutzt; 3) P. Rafin., gehört zu Lippia Lin.
