Rephaim (Rephaiten), alte Riesenvölker jen- u. diesseit des Jordanlandes, bes. die zur Zeit Abrahams im Ostjordanlande bei Astaroth-Karnaim neben den Samsumim u. Emim hausenden Stämme, von denen noch zu Mosis Zeit ein Rest in Basan als Reich des Og erwähnt wird, welches von den Israeliten erobert u. dem Stamm Manasse zugetheilt wurde. Von den R., welche im Westen des Jordan saßen, war noch das Thal R. in der Gegend von Jerusalem genannt.
