Romanin, Samuel, geb. 1808 in Triest von jüdischen Eltern, kam frühzeitig nach Venedig, wo er mehre untergeordnete Posten bekleidete, u.a. den eines geschwornen Übersetzers bei den Gerichten, u. 9. Sept. 1861 starb; er übersetzte v. Hammers Geschichte des Osmanischen Reiches u. Desselben Geschichte der Assassinen, so wie Pyrkers Tunesias ins Italienische u. schr.: Storia documentata di Venezia, Ven. 1853–61, 9 Bde.
