Succussion (v. lat.), 1) Erschütterung; 2) Rütteln eines auf einem Stuhle sitzenden Kranken an den Schultern, um bei vermutheter Brustwassersucht aus dem entstehenden Geräusche diese zu erkennen; 3) Einsetzen der Fingerspitzen in die Herzgrubengegend u. Druck damit von der rechten nach der linken Seite aufwärts bei Krankheiten des Herzens, welche sich dabei durch vermehrte Angst etc. verrathen sollen.
